Corporate Supporters

The Association of Business Crime Partnerships is pleased to welcome the support and assistance of the following organisations in helping ABCP to build a strong network of business crime reduction partnerships throughout the country. For more information about becoming a Corporate Supporter, please visit the 'Contact Us' page.

ASSOCIATION OF CONVENIENCE STORES

ACS - the Association of Convenience Stores, is the voice of 33,500 local shops, representing their interests to government and the media. Through lobbying on issues like planning policy, alcohol legislation and employment regulations, ACS seeks to make a real difference to the competitive position, cost burdens and bureaucracy faced by retailers based at the heart of communities throughout the country.

ACS supports the Association of Business Crime Partnerships because retailers benefit from effective local collaborative work to tackle crime. In turn, these partnerships benefit from having a national body giving advice, offering accreditation and sharing best practice. ACS wants to see effective crime prevention partnerships throughout the UK, and for these partnerships to work with all retailers, including independents and those situated in secondary areas outside main shopping centres.

ASSOCIATION OF TOWN CENTRE MANAGEMENT

The ATCM is Europe’s largest membership organisation concerned with the creation, development and management of vital and viable town and city centres. The process of town and city centre management (TCM) operates by creating partnerships of shared resources, ideas and commitment that unite and benefit all stakeholders. ATCM aims to build environments that are healthy, sustainable and socially inclusive.

Support for the establishment and development of local BCRPs is essential to business success and thriving town centres. ATCM understands the importance of networking, information sharing and professional development for its town centre manager members. Those running BCRPs need and deserve the same.

KENT POLICE

Kent Police is pleased to be a corporate supporter of The Association of Business Crime Partnerships.  Working closely with ABCP, Kent is the first police force in the country to have established business crime reduction partnerships throughout its area.

Kent has a proud track record in cutting crimes such as burglary and car crime. It also knows the impact crime can have on business in the county and actively supports the development of business crime reduction partnerships to tackle local problems during the working day and at night, when people socialise. This is why it set up the Kent and Medway Business Crime Initiative, enabling partners to use the National Business Information System to share accurate and timely information. Kent Police believes that business crime reduction partnerships are a productive way of working with the business sector to help reduce crime, anti-social behaviour and other incidents.

Kent Police serves the county of Kent, with a population of 1.5 million, and is one of the largest forces in the country with around 5,500 staff. It is committed to ensuring the county remains one of the safest in the country, with low levels of crime and anti-social behaviour.

LADBROKES PLC

Ladbrokes are committed to providing a healthy and safe environment for our employees, customers and for all visitors to our premises.

For over a decade we have been working in partnership with Crimestoppers, the police and local communities to help improve community safety.

We have actively participated in the SafeBet Alliance, an initiative by the Association of British Bookmakers (ABB) and the Metropolitan Police. In March the Alliance published the Robbery Security Code for London bookmakers. This sets out a minimum industry standard for security equipment and procedures, which will aid crime prevention, reduction and detection.

We fully support the Association of Business Crime Partnerships, its work with partnerships and its endeavours to reduce and tackle business crime.

NATIONAL FRAUD AUTHORITY

The National Fraud Authority (NFA) aims to make the UK more hostile to fraudsters and to provide better advice and support for the victims of fraud. It develops the national fraud strategy and works with businesses, government bodies, the police, charities and others to co-ordinate and develop an effective, country-wide response to fraud. The NFA also runs Action Fraud, the UK's first centralised phone and website service for people to report fraud and get the support and advice they need to prevent it. Action Fraud is available to micro, small and medium sized businesses as well as individual residents.

British Retail Consortium retail crime survey reports a reduction in shop theft.

The British Retail Consortium's (BRC's) Retail Crime Survey 2011, published last Monday shows fewer incidents for many types of crime but each incident on average has been more costly and total losses have increased sharply compared with the previous year. Expenditure on crime prevention by retailers taking part in the survey rose by 1.4 per cent to £214 million, a median spend of £700,000 per company. This has substantially reduced incidents of opportunistic crime, but combating the rise in violent crime retailers and their staff are exposed to requires the support of law makers and enforcers.
