Membership charges

The scale of charges for annual partnership membership, developing new partnerships and SBA re-accreditation is set out below.

ABCP is the national voice for BCRPs and is the only organisation which is able to speak up for the work of partnerships.

ABCP wants to help to develop the skills, professionalism and value of partnership work and to ensure that BCRPs are able to respond professionally to increasing demands for their participation in local community safety programmes.

This means that ABCP has to charge for its services in order to ensure that it generates income and can continue to deliver high quality services to partnerships. Each partnership costs nearly £9,000 to establish (full cost of time and resources).  We do not seek to recover the full costs of establishing and servicing partnerships, but the board of ABCP has decided that the following charges will apply:

ABCP can only help to establish and accredit partnerships who agree to become members of ABCP.  We are not able to offer our services to establish partnerships for non-members.

ANNUAL PARTNERSHIP MEMBERSHIP OF ABCP IS £490 FOR EXISTING PARTNERSHIPS, WHICH INCLUDES RE-ACCREDITATION FOR THE SAFER BUSINESS AWARD EVERY TWO YEARS.

DEVELOPING NEW PARTNERSHIPS

Where ABCP commences to work to help to form or establish a new partnership, the process and charges set out below will apply:

Stage One  ABCP will ascertain by way of pre-visit telephone and e-mail advice that the new partnership wishes to fully engage in establishing a partnership to the SBA standard. ABCP will tell potential partnerships what they will need to contribute towards the process and to identify the key person/s that will drive it forward. Once the new partnership has agreed to go forward, the key person will set up a meeting with all their key players

ABCP will attend an initial free visit to make a presentation and fully discuss any issues with key players. They will tell them what the process is, what the costs will be, discuss timescales and set out what the partnership will be expected to do throughout the process. This visit is important as it will be the one at which the partnership will have to make the decision to go to stage two. ABCP and the partnership need to ensure that there is a good prospect for success.

Stage Two If the partnership wishes to move forward they will agree to pay the total amount (via email confirmation) before ABCP commences work . All other costs will be met by ABCP. The partnership will then receive the following: Two pre-accreditation visits, one accreditation visit, one presentation visit.  ABCP partnership codes of practice, unlimited phone and e-mail guidance, Safer Business Award certificate, (an SBA circular high quality display plaque is available for purchase if required), membership of ABCP for one year, discounted access to ABCP PI and other insurances and all other services.

The total cost will be £800. Additional visits will be charged at £95 per day.

RE-ACCREDITATION EVERY TWO YEARS FOR SAFER BUSINESS AWARD

The partnership will receive the following:

  • One accreditation visit
  • One presentation visit (if required)
  • Unlimited phone and e-mail assistance
  • Safer Business Award certificate

The cost of re-accreditation is part of the annual membership fee and there is no additional charge for ABCP members. For partnerships whose membership and SBA has lapsed, the cost will be £490 for new membership and accreditation.  A partnership whose membership has lapsed but whose SBA is still current, can re-join for 12 months for £490.

PARTNERSHIP SUPPORT

ABCP and its staff will provide free and unlimited advice, information and help to members on any matter and will seek to provide solutions if the answer is not immediately available.

The guideline aims to ensure a consistent and proportionate approach to sentencing, with convicted offenders receiving a sentence that reflects both the harm they have caused to their victim and their culpability. The broad wording would encompass both those providing vital services to the public, such as emergency services personnel, but also those working, for example, as pub staff and shop workers. More...

British Retail Consortium retail crime survey reports a reduction in shop theft.

The British Retail Consortium's (BRC's) Retail Crime Survey 2011, published last Monday shows fewer incidents for many types of crime but each incident on average has been more costly and total losses have increased sharply compared with the previous year. Expenditure on crime prevention by retailers taking part in the survey rose by 1.4 per cent to £214 million, a median spend of £700,000 per company. This has substantially reduced incidents of opportunistic crime, but combating the rise in violent crime retailers and their staff are exposed to requires the support of law makers and enforcers.
