Update on ABCP strategy workshop
As part of the development plan for the new organisation, ABCP held a strategy workshop day at ATCM offices in London on 15th July. It was attended by representatives of BCRPs, retailers, town centre managers, police and directors of ABCP.
The purpose of the day was to identify those policy issues which we need to address in order to achieve our objectives of becoming the national standard setting and partnership organisation for BCRPs.
The four major areas which were identified from our deliberations were:
• membership benefits – what do the members want and get from membership
• Standards – what does ABCP need to achieve to be recognised as the national standards awarding body for BCRPs
• Finance – what does ABCP need to do to become financially viable
• Communication and administration – how does ABCP communicate to its internal and external stakeholders
A mission statement, setting out these broad objectives is now being prepared and will be published in our e-newsletter shortly.
A detailed business plan and action plan is being prepared for approval by the ABCP board before the end of August and these will also be published on the web site. From the action plan, members will be able to see how we are achieving our objectives. To help us, we are looking for volunteers to join e-working parties on the four areas below so we can gain a wide variety of member views.
Membership – Richard Barron
Standards – Mike Schuck
Finance & administration – Martin Blackwell
Communications – Richard Barron/Mike Schuck
If you are a member would like to help on any of the working groups, please e-mail Richard at richard.barron@businesscrime.org.uk
