Business Crime Reduction Partnership presents to Sussex magistrates
Lisa Perretta, crime manager for Brighton & Hove BCRP, gave a series of 5 presentations over five days to Sussex magistrates to ensure they understand and support the work of the partnership.
These presentations gave magistrates an opportunity to keep up to date with issues that affect the delivery of justice in the area. They heard about the role of the BCRP in the collation of evidence of business [and other] crime and anti-social behaviour which is used to issue ASBOs against persistent offenders.
The presentations were well received and the magistrates took a lively interest in the BCRP which is part of the city’s statutory Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership working closely with Sussex Police and other agencies to make the city a safer place.
Lisa said, 'If local magistrates understand that we play an important part in promoting community safety, then they will more readily accept our role and the evidence we provide to the courts.'
