AABC develops a Service Level Agreement for partnerships and retailers
Working with a group of major retailers, AABC has developed a service level agreement document which will help to bring partnerships and some of their major members closer together and provide a better and more collaborative service to members and crime managers of partnerships.
The agreement, sets out minimum standards which should form the basis of service delivery by partnerships and participation by retailers. Whilst signing up to the agreement is voluntary, it is hoped that many partnerships and retailers will see this as an opportunity to overcome some of the current obstacles to closer working.
Mike Schuck, operations director for AABC said, 'We worked with a group of influential retailers to develop a set of minimum standards for partnership delivery and active participation by those retailers. We then passed these to a representative group of partnerships to obtain their views and ensure there were no show stoppers. The resulting SLA provides a common starting point, which, subject to minor local variation, will help to improve services to paying members and encourage paying members to participate both locally at store level and nationally through loss prevention department involvement.
'Our major members do need to be able to demonstrate that their involvement in partnerships is adding value to their loss prevention efforts and felt that the best way was by developing a structured approach that would set out clearly the requirements for successful collaboration by both parties.'
The full agreement and explanatory note are contained in a new page titled 'Service Level Agreement' on the public pages index on the left side of the website underneath Safer Business Award.
