Fraud reporting line goes live
The National Fraud Authority fraud reporting system, called Action Fraud, is now operational and members of the public and businesses can report all types of frauds direct.
All reports go the the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau, which collates information and builds intelligence packages which can then be investigated by police. There have been some early successes resulting from the collation of disparate fraud reports from all over the country, which would never have been brought together otherwise.
This is an excellent new service which BCRP members can use and it is very worthwhile providing them with the details - perhaps by a permanent banner in newsletters and creating a link to the NFA on your own website.
Action Fraud can be contacted on 0300 123 2040 or at: www.actionfraud.org.uk
