Sending personal or sensitive data
The ICO has expressed the view that BCRPs who send personal or sensitive data via email should do so in a secure manner where this is possible. If there is a need to send personal or sensitive data via email, partnerships should consider using the Criminal Justice Secure Email service.
It allows people working in the CJS and those working to prevent crime, including public, private and voluntary organisations (BCRPs), to send emails containing information up to an equivalent of ‘Restricted’ (i.e. sensitive data), in a secure manner and it is now possible for these organisations to send emails securely to each other.
CJSM uses a dedicated server to securely transmit emails between connected criminal justice practitioners. Once connected, practitioners can use CJSM to send secure emails to each other and to criminal justice organisations. AABC may be contacted through the CJSM at: info.aabc@aabc.cjsm.net
