Launch of Lewisham Borough Business Against Crime
The borough-wide partnership was launched on 5th June at a ceremony at Lewisham Shopping Centre attended by the mayor of Lewisham, the borough commander, local businesses and security staff for the centre. The new partnership takes over from the previously separate Lewisham and Catford Partnerships.
Martyn Grover, the partnership manager, said, 'This is a great day for us and an opportunity to provide our services to all businesses within the borough. We aim to maintain a peaceful and friendly environment and maintain the many improvements which have been made in the area over the past few years. Lewisham is an important retail and business centre for south east London and the arrival of the Docklands Light Railway means we are now very well connected to many other adjacent areas and we need to work closely with neighbouring partnerships to ensure we keep Lewisham safe and welcoming.'
