Dudley Borough Business Crime Partnership
Dudley Borough Business Crime Partnership has achieved the Safer Business Award after undergoing a rigorous inspection process by AABC. Mike Holder, chair of Dudley's partnership said, '' We are delighted to have won this award on behalf of the business community in Dudley. It shows that true partnership working across strategic and operational boundaries with statutory groups such as the council, police and CPS, working together with the wider business community can achieve significant results.''
The award was presented at Dudley Council house where Dudley mayor, councillor David Stanley accepted the award on behalf of the borough. Pictured holding the award are (L to R): Sergeant Simon Holloway; Mike Holder, chair of DBBCP; Dave Suszek, AABC regional manager; councillor Les Jones,West Midlands Police Authority; councillor David Stanley, Mayor of Dudley. Sergeant Simon Holloway said that crime had dropped by 14 per cent in Dudley town centre over the past nine months compared to the same period last year and Dean Jenkins from the Merry Hill Centre said they had seen a 16 per cent drop in retail crime in the past year.
Dave Suszek said ''I am delighted to present the Safer Business Award to Dudley. Managing the partnership together with a significant drop in crime against businesses is no coincidence. Dudley has shown that by working together across agencies and including the business community in its decision-making process, crime will drop. The Safer Business Award for this partnership is not the end of the process, its only the beginning and the borough must ensure it maintains its high standards, which I'm sure it will.''
