Business PACT
Business PACT (preventing anti-social crime together) in the Vale of Glamorgan has again been awarded the prestigious Safer Business Award for the second time. In 2005 Business PACT was the first BCRP in South Wales to win the award.
Commenting on the success of Business PACT, Dave Suszek, regional manager for AABC said: “This partnership has an excellent understanding of how a successful BCRP should operate. It links well with partner agencies and where those links don’t exist they are actively looking at ways to progress them.”
Dave Sharpe, chairman of the Vale of Glamorgan Business PACT said: “It is excellent news that the Business PACT partnership has once again received the Safer Business Award. It is acknowledgement of the hard work and dedication of the members of the partnership and efforts of the committee to ensure our community is a safer place to live work and play. As an independent partnership, we are fortunate to have the full support of South Wales Police and other partners such as the anti-social behaviour unit, community safety and the fire service. I would like to thank Mark Allcott the manager of Tesco in Barry for his continued support for the initiative and giving me time to carry out my duties as Business PACT chairman”.
PCSO Rhiannon Harris, PACT coordinator, added: “PACT has been commended by AABC for the work it carries out to reduce business crime in the Barry and Culverhouse Cross areas. PACT was the first BCRP in the area to run its own Partnership Excellence Awards. The awards recognise the good work carried out by businesses in the Vale of Glamorgan and thank the business community for its contribution in helping to keep the area a safer place”.
