Dover, Deal and Sandwich

The presentation of the Safer Business Award to Dover, Deal and Sandwich partnership against crime at a ceremony at Dover police station on 1st April is recognition of a lot of hard work by a lot of people.

Speaking for businesses in the area chairman Graham Tutthill said, 'At a time when everyone want their streets to be safer, without the fear of criminals making life a misery, any initiative which tackles offenders -and their offending behaviour - is to be welcomed. And it's not just about arresting people, it's trying to persuade them to change their ways too, so congratulations to all concerned'.

Set up nearly 13 years ago, DPAC has proved to be one of the success stories of the area, bringing together different sections of the community such as police, the local authority,CCTV, local retailers, ferry operators and others, to take effective action to reduce crime.
