Crossgates Shopping Centre
Crossgates Shopping Centre in Leeds became the first centre in the country to be re-accredited with the Safer Business Award (SBA) by Action Against Business Crime (AABC). The award was presented at the centre by AABC area manager, Steve Booth.
Other attendees included representatives from the British Parking Association, West Yorkshire Police, and a member from Leeds City Council. AABC has developed the SBA to ensure that there are nationally recognised and standards for the management and operation of business crime reduction partnerships. To ensure those standards are maintained, partnerships are inspected by AABC before being accredited. This demonstrates that partnerships operate legally, to high standards, and reflect the increasing professionalism of partnerships.
This award confirms that Crossgates Shopping Centre has been recognised for the value of their hard work in keeping their customers safe. Steven Seymour, Crossgates centre manager said ‘We are extremely pleased that our continued work and dedication has again been recognised and we will continue to forge new partnerships and develop new and improved ways to address all aspects of retail crime.’
